List of other online Hacking games

As some beta players of Hacker's Edge are beginning to ask about other online hacking games in the wild. I thought I would put together a list of some of the ones which I know of. I personally do not partake in any of these other games, nor hold an account on their respective websites/forums. I am providing this list here for a fair comparison of potentially similar online hacking games and what I currently know of each one. There have many several attempts at creating a online hacking game by many individuals, some of these efforts still exist, and some of them disappeared due to lost interest from the developer(s). Hacker's Edge has unfortunately been under planning and development(and subject to a couple rewrites) since October of 2012, you can easily perform a whois hackers-edge.com on the domain to see the exact date in which I registered it. There are also forum posts dating back to 2012 as well. As the current sole developer of Hacker's Edge, you can rest assure that I have no interest in abandoning my efforts in creating an online hacking simulation game. My current goals reside in creating a system for player created content, and keeping the servers online and active for as long as I have breath in my lungs regardless of how many players there might be. With that out of the way, let me introduce you to other online Hacking games out in the wild...

Interface: Web-based

Player-created content: Unsure

Domain registered: June 2006

Activeness: Appears empty

I have only briefly read about this one, it appears to be a web-based experience where you attack other in-game servers and turn them into your own botnet slaves. It doesn't appear to have that much realism from what I can read.

Looking at the forums, there doesn't appear to be much activity, and this post doesn't make the game too promising:

System.Break()

Website: https://system-break.com/

Interface: Desktop app?

Player-created content: Appears to be Lua scripting

Written in: XNA/C# (Windows-only?)

Domain registered: March 2016

Activeness: Still in development

This one came to my awareness as some Hacker's Edge beta players were chatting about it in-game. This one looks interesting, and there are a few developers working on it. My only concern is that it is being made a desktop application, and using XNA(discontinued by M$) and requires DirectX, meaning it's target platform is Microsoft platforms like Windows, XBox 360, and Windows Phone. I am not sure if it will ever be compatible with other mobile devices, or Linux and OS X for that matter.

SlaveHack

Website: http://www.hacker-project.com/

Interface: Web-based

Player-created content: Unsure, nothing about in-game coding within it's guide.

Written in: PHP

Domain registered: June 2008

Activeness: Forums appear semi-active

I just did a basic Google search to find this one. It appears to be a run of the mill browser based hacking game, seems easy to use for newbies from a first glance. Not sure of the exact gameplay, however there is a Guide section which explains how to get started.
